B Block wins at Crumbs Awards
B Block Pizza were winners at the prestigious Crumbs Awards, which celebrate the best in food and drink in the Bristol area.
Located in Keynsham’s thriving Chocolate Quarter, B Block won the Best Casual Dining category at the awards run by Crumbs magazine.
Held at Bristol Old Vic, the awards were the biggest yet and featured 20 categories covering places to eat, suppliers and service.
A community hub for all ages
Naming B Block the winner of the Casual Dining category, the judges said: “As well as having a clear focus on sustainability and local produce; B Block has become a real hub for all ages in the community.”
The St Monica Trust’s Food Development Manager, Adrian Kirikmaa said: “Winning the Best Casual Dining award is a massive achievement for B Block and words can’t describe how chuffed we were to receive this on behalf of all the team.
“Being recognised for the role B Block play in the wider Keynsham community was particularly pleasing. We’ve got loads of exciting plans for the coming year, including a new pizza menu, another Belly Laughs gig, launching a new ice cream menu and continuing to work with local charities.”
Authentic wood-fired pizzas
B Block, which opened in 2017, is an all-day restaurant specialising in authentic wood-fired pizzas and quality coffee and desserts.
Local producers are a key part of the menu, with fruit and vegetables supplied by Bristol Fruit and Veg Market, meat from family butchers WJ Harris in Barton Hill and organic flour from Shipton Mill in Tetbury, Gloucestershire.
The restaurant is a community hub, particularly for visitors meeting relatives and friends who live in The Chocolate Quarter, the luxury retirement living complex run by Bristol-based charity the St Monica Trust.
In addition to an amazing food offering, B Block regularly hosts special events, including their famous movie nights where guests can enjoy a film screening in the on-site cinema along with their meal.
