REFLECT
- In our busy lives it is often important to take time to reflect, even only for a moment. BBC Radio 2’s ‘Pause For Thought’ features different contributors from a variety of faiths providing a short reflection from their life. Try Tom Cozens talking about taking a moment out, Remona Aly sharing her thoughts on reward and recognition or the Reverend Richard Coles discussing respecting each other.
LEARN
- 60 years ago this week was the first televised presidential debate, which was between U.S. presidential candidates John F. Kennedy and Vice President Richard M. Nixon. You can watch the debate here.
- September is harvest time and part of this tradition is the creation of corn dollies. You can find out more about them here and you can find a useful guide to make your own corn dolly here.
DO
- When was the last time you did a cross word? Have you ever made your own? Watch this fantastic video on how a crossword is made.
FUN
- Meryl Streep Is well known as a serious actor in films such as the ‘Devil wears Prada’, ‘Sophie’s Choice’ and ‘The Hours’. As well as dramas she has made a good selection of comedy films but this video shows some of her best scripted and unscripted funny bits!
