Asset-Based Community Development
In 2020, a three-year grant was provided through our Community Development Fund for Older People. The fund was launched with the aim of encouraging collaboration and linking older people into existing services in order to reengage older people.
Using an asset-based community development (ABCD) approach, each organisation has used this approach to build on the existing strengths of the community and listened to its needs. The benefits this approach brings was wonderfully brought to life in a recent conversation Knowle West Health Park had with a member of the local community.
